Description
Presage Sharp-Edged Series Limited Edition. Offering the finest in Japanese mechanical watchmaking, the Presage Collection blends precision technology with superior craftsmanship and design. This extraordinary Limited Edition from the Sharp-Edged Series, available only in a controlled-production run of 2,000, with the serial number engraved on each caseback, roots the fresh, clean angularity of contemporary Japanese design in a deeper tradition, drawing its inspiration from Japanese Kabuki, the centuries-old performing art that, like the watch series, strives to create new forms by combining modern culture with historical themes. Like other Sharp-Edged Series styles, this memorable watch features a gloss-finish dial patterned with an Asanoha hemp-leaf motif, a symbol of growth and prosperity dating to the Heian Period (794-1185 AD) that was also used in Kabuki costumes in the Edo Period (1603-1867 AD), here in the reddish-brown Kakiiro color, named after a Kabuki master who favored it. With sharp gold accents to highlight the intricate pattern, the dial includes a power reserve indicator, day and date displays and LumiBrite hands and markers. The sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, while the black cordovan strap with Kakiiro colored lining is secured by a tri-fold push button release clasp. In stainless steel with black hard coating, this exceptional timepiece offers a 29-jewel automatic movement that beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 45 hours and manual winding capability. Packaged in a Limited Edition collectors' box. 10 bar, 100M Water Resistant.
