With the strong, sleek lines of the Seiko Astron, the world’s first commercially available quartz watch, today’s Astron is designed for a new generation of leaders, breaking through to the future with excellence in both innovation and style. Available only in a controlled-production run of 1,500, with the serial number engraved on each caseback, this distinctive Limited Edition, with its perfectly sculpted octagonal titanium bezel, combines solid tailoring with the highest degree of accuracy possible in a wristwatch. Powered by Seiko’s new GPS solar caliber 3X62, with the improved receiver sensitivity required by the metallic bezel, this exceptional watch is GPS controlled for high-speed time and time zone adjustment to 39 time zones, and includes an in-flight mode and perpetual date calendar correct to the year 2100. To ensure smooth operation, the watch is equipped with a signal reception result indicator and power save function. The solar cell is powered by light energy, with no battery change required. With a strikingly geometric horizontal pressed pattern, the silver dial features a multi-function indicator subdial for easy mode reference, as well as sharp and highly visible three-dimensional applied indices, and LumiBrite hands and markers.
